Acton Woman’s Club 2020-2021 Programs

In normal times, our monthly meetings consist of a lovely luncheon, time to visit, and then a quick business meeting before our program.  Due to the restrictions of the Coronavirus Pandemic, our activities are strictly curtailed.  However, we are now having our monthly  “Luncheon” Meetings via ZOOM.  Times are uncertain, so keep tuned for updates.

September 16, 2020:  Luncheon and Meeting canceled.

October 14, 2020  Meeting and Program via ZOOM, MUSIC THROUGH THE AGES:  Multi-talented David Polansky has been singing and dancing for years.  Clear the aisles.  You will want to dance!  Time of ZOOM Event to be determined.

November 11, 2020                                    Meeting and Program via ZOOM  WOMEN’S SUFFRAGE:  Fredie Kay, Esq., Founder and President, Suffrage 100MA, will discuss the dramatic and largely unknown history of the Women’s Suffrage movement in the United States from the 1700’s – 1920 and beyond, to the voting limitations minority communities faced even after the 19th Amendment was adopted.  Also included will be the important role of Worcester and the many suffragists of Massachusetts, including women of color, and the enormous, but unfortunately failed effort of women to obtain the vote in Massachusetts prior to the 19th Amendment.

December 9, 2020  ZOOM Meeting at Noon

Begins with a short meeting.  At 12:15 the program will be a half-hour showing of The Renaissance with Richard Brettell of the NY Museum of Fine Arts.   After the viewing we will have a “Coffee and Conversation” time.  Join in the spirit of the season by hunting down your favorite holiday ornament, and be set to briefly describe it and its history.  It will be fun to share our holiday traditions!

January 13, 2021   Due to Covid, the Twin Seafood program at Acton Studios had to be cancelled.  ZOOM starting at noon. 

February 10, 2021  ZOOM opens at 11:45, Business Meeting at noon.  Program: continuation of the NY Museum of Fine Arts video.

March 10, 2021  ZOOM opens at 11:45, Business Meeting at noon, Program 1:00 PM,     

April 14, 2021    ZOOM opens at 11:45, Business Meeting 12:00   Program: 1:00 PM MARIE ARDITO’S MOTIVATIONAL SEMINAR will help you realize that you have talents to create something to leave as your legacy.  We all have a story to tell.  How will you be remembered?

May 1, 2020, 10 am at the Clubhouse:  Scholarship Bake Sale to continue raising funds for our ABRHS Scholarships.  All members are requested to donate home-baked items if they are able. 

May 19, 2021    Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers:   Zoom Meeting for all members at 10:30 at which new officers will be installed and the 2021-22 budget will be presented for approval.  Following this, all members who are comfortable getting together, are invited to an OUTDOOR luncheon at Il Forno’s, Rte 110, Littleton, at noon.  RSVP by May 1st following directions on the email communication sent on April 19th.
