Overview

The Acton Woman’s Club Extends a welcome to all to become a member of our organization; join us for our monthly meetings, participate in our many activities, and serve on one or more committees.  We are a diverse group who enjoy getting together as we keep our historic home alive and welcoming, and attend and support social and charitable events.

Please check the dates and times of the meetings  in our calendar.  Guests may attend two meetings prior to joining the club. Kindly contact us at actonwomansclubmembership@gmail.com to let us know you are attending.

Any woman who is interested in the purpose of this club is welcomed and eligible for membership.  Acton residency is not required.  The purpose of the club is to preserve our historic antique house for the town of Acton, to promote benevolent and civic activities, and to encourage friendships and good times together. The Club is non-political and non-partisan.

Active members serve on one luncheon committee and one standing committee yearly, and support the fund raising activities of the club.  All members are entitled to join the many interest groups of the club and are eligible to rent the Clubhouse at a reduced rate.

The annual dues for all members are $50.00, paid in the spring of the year. New members joining after the 1st of January pay $25.00 for the remainder of the year.

Meetings

The Acton Woman’s Club holds nine monthly luncheon meetings for the entire membership, September through May. These luncheon meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of the month, either at the Clubhouse or off site at another venue.

Each meeting starts with an entertaining program at 11:00 AM,  followed in about an hour by the business meeting, and we close with our Monthly Luncheon, usually finishing by 2 pm.

Programs

Members look forward to the rich, entertaining and educational programs. Over the years programs have included a variety of wonderful performers, including famous authors, chefs, entertainers, actors and actresses, dramatists, story tellers, historians, dancers, philosophers, instrumentalists, and some years, our own members in a style show.  Come and join the fun!

One of our favorite programs is when our own members do a style show featuring a local business.

Another perennial favorite is when the Twin Seafood guys come and cook a fabulous meal for us as we watch them film at the Acton Cable TV station.
